Thoughts of a 'Man'

well, wanted to blogged on the band blog....but i guess i post there so much so that i contribute to 70% of the posts....

so i'll just say it here....i'll have to complete my physics tutorial by tommrrow...sigh, its so late now....anyway about our band, we kind of destroyed alternative...by playing 'their' songs, we kind of revealed them to the 'blind'....or making it mainstream....anyway, 'their' music have helped this band a lot....i just really hope that there are less posers in this world, and they would just stay away from what is holy....

our performance was about 70% i guess...we can't say that we were really bad, but we made many mistakes today....and i'll never know how we appeared to those that were watching....but, i guess we just crossed another hurdle...thank god, for bringing this band together....out of obscurity(ctss).....

well, what we were anticipating, didn't really got at us, instead those that we didn't really expect to be good were good....there is a funk, and another pop band....i shall not say they are absolute, but they are good, and is good competition, they are good enough to play anywhere, and i guess they are prepared....i can't really explain why they are good, its not about their skill, but their substance...in the funk band, well they are great....don't wanna talk about it either...they have good members....well, and the pop band, the singer could sing really really really well....i'll immotalise her...lol....omg, according to chung, 'plain jane'.....but she could easily "Become The Next Singapore Idol"....and their music was tight, so was the funk band....

anyway, what can i say about the other bands?....i can't not address them, that would be insincere, i feel...to be frank, i don't think they couldn't play, but they kinda didn't come prepared...and did not make use of their WMD....

in terms of showmanship, we have improved a little...its great we took that small step..and also incorporating outros into the songs.....i was discussing with chung the other day, about what we should concentrate on....we decided that our biggest problem now, is not our music(even though it still needs to be improved on)....we need to improve on our showmanship...we just tell ourselves performance after each performance that, we gotta move, we gotta move, we gotta move.......this time we did move...but i'm not really sure how it turned out...it was easy for us i guess, i can humbly say that we are professional amatuers....we have played in front of an audience about4 times now....excluding the times we were auditioning and rehearsing.....well, i hope we'll be ready for the actual day, if we do get through...right now we are not ready....

i would not regret, or have any hard feelings if we don't get through...seriously this ppl are good, and we did try quite hard...they have substance at least, and the thing is, they have skill....well substance always comes first though....i'll have to brush up my singing and my guitar a lot.....4 months can make a huge difference, i've seen a perfect example....i don't know whats wrong with my singing, it sucks.....i used to be comfortable, with the high notes....but not now....sigh...

i'll be honoured if we play along those who certainly would be chosen.....i quite grateful, coz....singapore still has some hope, and well,they let us realise where we stand...also thanks to nicholas for lending his bass to janson and the band.....janson would probably buy a bass soon....his still deciding on what, and saving the money...and in eed a guitar and amplifier too.....the ones i have or rather my brother's, have some problems....or the amplifier is not good, or am i not experienced enoguh to utilise it?
